In today’s world, where diet-related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and kidney diseases are on the rise, and issues like obesity and mental health problems have become significant public health concerns, healthcare professionals must have a strong foundation in nutrition. This course recognizes the crucial role nutrition plays in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and aims to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact on patient care and population health.

Course Objectives

The primary objective of this certificate course is to provide healthcare professionals with advanced knowledge and skills in nutrition, enabling them to:

  1. Understand the role of nutrition in maintaining optimal health and preventing diet-related diseases
  2. Perform accurate nutritional assessments and develop personalized dietary plans for patients.
  3. Gain expertise in managing various diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, gastrointestinal tract disorders, renal diseases, and more, through appropriate nutrition interventions.
  4. Develop proficiency in weight management strategies, ICU and post-operative nutritional care, and specialized dietary plans for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children.
  5. Address micronutrient deficiencies and understand the importance of physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  6. Apply the principles of nutrition in clinical settings and guide patients toward healthier dietary choices in their daily lives.

Course Structure

The course consists of fourteen modules that cover a wide range of topics essential to advanced nutrition for healthcare professionals. Each module will delve into specific areas of nutrition and its relevance to clinical practice. The course will be conducted over two months, with classes held on Fridays and Saturdays. The hybrid mode of instruction will provide both online sessions and physical practical classes, allowing for a comprehensive learning experience.

As participants of this course, you will receive training modules and handouts that will serve as valuable resources throughout your learning journey. These materials will support your understanding of key concepts, aid in practical application, and serve as references for future professional development. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate in Advanced Nutrition for Healthcare Professionals from Bangladesh University of Health Sciences.

Course Fee

We believe in making quality education accessible to healthcare professionals, and thus, the course fee has been set at BDT 8000, ensuring affordability without compromising the course’s value and content.

DURATION OF THE COURSE

The course is for two months. The class will be conducted each Friday and Saturday afternoon, and this will be in hybrid mode (Practical class will be taken physically). A total of 2.5 credits.
